Technology News:

Google + to rival Facebook?- 1st July- Google + has been launched now for a few months and there is still a lot questions surrounding it. Is it useful? Is it easy to use? but the main question is, is it better than Facebook? Google + have now launched the +1 button which can be added to sites, which enables users to share/recommend websites within their Google network, similar to the Facebook like button.  Potentially Google + has the ability to change the way people use the web, only using sites that their friends have recommended. It is still too early to tell if Google + will overtake Facebook, but there is definitely a threat there! Mashable have constructed a very useful pros and cons list of the social platform.

Find your social media super users- 1st July- Social media measurement company Klout has teamed up with London based Peer Index to create the technology to find social media super users across all subjects. The idea of this is so that companies can target/ approach super users of their brand/ product in order to gain a wider reach. The ‘super users’ are given a score which is based on their Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn activity, depending on how many people are interacting with them. This new technology is designed to save business money and time on social media, ensuring that they are reaching the right audience.
