Travel News:

Hotels seeking fake reviews for TripAdvisor- 25th July- A report in the Sunday Times this weekend revealed that there is a market for fake reviews on TripAdvisor. Adverts on sites such as freelancer.com have been found which offer sums of money for journalists to write fake reviews on TripAdvisor with different email and I.P addresses. There have been ads found which offer as little as £3 a review. TripAdvisor have always claimed that they take fake reviews very seriously and police the site very strictly, but this report will obviously damage the reputation of the site.

Technology News:

London hotel puts iPad 2 in every room
- 25th July- London hotel Ecclestone Square is trying to claim the title of most tech-savy hotel in Europe by adding IPad 2 into everyone of it’s rooms. The iPads will be used to control room temperature, lights, curtain control, room service, restaurant booking, spa reservations as well as provide information about the hotel and local area. The hotel is set to be opened on the 1st August with prices starting from £250 a night.

Google+ reaches 20 million users- 22nd July- Still in it’s infancy Google+ has already hit the 20 million mark. According to a recent reports 60% of it’s users are 18-25 and of that 2 million 63% are male. It’s very interesting that the majority of members are in the young age bracket, does this suggest that it’s a young fad, or that the older generation are yet to catch on? The growth of Google+ has been the quickest of any other internet development including Twitter in 2009 when it went from 4 million users to 20 million in a matter of months.
